Recent Highlights

The June Archer School of Arts is an experiential learning program focused on the business of arts & entertainment and taught by professionals in the industry. Classes include Graphic Art Design, DJing, and The Business of Arts & Entertainment Course, and Intro to filmmaking.

June Archer teaches The Business of Arts and Entertainment to WWVoices Youth. The Business of Arts and Entertainment is designed to help students identify their own artistic, communication, and business strengths as it applies to the entertainment industry. This course brings awareness to the numerous jobs, skills, and opportunities in the workforce. Students are grouped by their strengths into positions in a Record Company Project and they work together to launch a music or movie project that actually gets promoted across local media stations and platforms.

Paige Rasid has worked as a graphic designer and marketing executive for a Fortune 500 company and is the former COO of Connecticut Technology Council, a membership organization of tech companies in Connecticut. She managed the Women of Innovation(r) program for over ten years and designed the accompanying Girls in Technology scholarship and enrichment program.

Antwain Debnam teaches Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy to Worldwide Voices participants. In his courses, students are shown the process of turning an idea into a reality. Students learn the steps to setting up a business, how to research and apply for a patent, putting together a pitch deck, marketing, the difference between an asset and a liability, and the power of networking. Students will put together a business plan, profit & loss statements, and how credit works. Antwaine introduces his classes to a variety of entrepreneurs, inventors, and financial experts.

Dr. Stacey “STEM” Williams teaches a variety of STEM courses for World Wide Voices. Her classes include “Green Energy” where students research wind turbine and solar power and then build scale models to demonstrate their benefits. “STEM Health and Medical” where students learn the basic structure of diseases and viruses and the latest medical science on how to treat ailments. She also teaches “The Science of Urban Community Development” where students build an energy-efficient and technologically savvy model home.

Duane Pierre teaches Media Literacy to WWVoices Youth. His courses are designed to educate youth on how to be media creators instead of just media consumers. Students learn how to operate the latest devices, technologies, applications, and platforms. Students will learn the basics of podcasting, making a web series, marketing, and online sales. Duane gives them access and training on the latest cameras, audio, editing, and virtual reality equipment. Students leave his classes with transferable skills for the jobs of tomorrow.

June Archer will be teaching a class for World Wide Voices (WWVOICES) on the Business of Arts and Entertainment. Students will learn the practical steps to bringing their art to the marketplace.

Junein his own words: I believe that we have the power to change our lives when we change our perspectives and my goal is to help you do just that.

I wasn't always a motivational teacher. I was kinda in the music business. OK...not kinda; I was deep in the music industry. I worked my way up from winning in school singing contests to winning contests at the world famous Apollo Theatre. I went from singing in a driveway in Windsor, Connecticut to signing a major record deal in New York City. I went from reporting to the president of a record label to becoming the president of a record label. I went from working with unsigned artists careers to working with the likes of Jay Z and Russell Simmons.

How? I changed my perspective to gain my accomplishments in life. You see, all of those things I mentioned before, they weren't handed to me. Doors closed on me but I saw the alternative side to it and knew it meant that other doors were going to open for me.

So here I am 2 published books later, former major record label executive, owner of a marketing company, and motivational teacher. All I am saying is if you view things differently, you will have a better chance at success.

Stacey Williams is a STEM Education Specialist and consultant and an Adjunct professor. I have a Bachelor of Science in Health Education, a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a PhD in Higher education administration. I have developed science and STEM curriculum for many districts throughout Connecticut, developed hands-on STEM programs for students and facilitated many of teacher professional development focusing on cultural diversity, science and STEM education.

However, my passion is working to encourage and inspire students, specifically minority students to focus on their education and consider STEM as an educational career. Therefore my goal is to inspire students and create positive hands on experiences that motivate students to work hard and be successful in the science, technological, engineering and math fields

Through World Wide Vision I plan on continuing this work.
According to the National Science and Technology Council , the need for stronger science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills applies to both STEM and non-STEM occupations.

World Wide Voices is a youth-centered, entertaining, and impactful after-school program that allows kids to participate in real-world education and connects students to community, community events, and resources. We serve the Greater Hartford (Connecticut) area alongside our partners and funders by offering classes in media, STEM, Art & Entertainment, and financial literacy. We are building a foundation for a better tomorrow.
