Dr. Stacey “STEM” Williams teaches a variety of STEM courses for World Wide Voices. Her classes include “Green Energy” where students research wind turbine and solar power then build scale models to demonstrate their benefits. “The Science of Urban Community Development” where students build an energy efficient and technologically savvy model home.
In this program , students will research homes in their neighborhoods, get a chance to take home tours, and meet real estate agents . Students will then learn what it takes to build and maintain a home being introduced to construction, mortgages, home buying options, and green energy technology. Students will take this knowledge to design a technologically savvy home for the 21st century. Learning how construction, green technology and real estate play a major role in the development of communities, with an emphasis in urban community development.
