• The Business of Arts and Entertainment The June Archer School of Arts is an experiential learn program focused on the business of arts & entertainment and taught by professionals in the industry. Classes include Graphic Art Design, DJing, and The Business of Arts & Entertainment Course, and Intro to filmmaking.. June Archer teaches The Business of Arts and Entertainment to WWVoices Youth. The Business of Arts and Entertainment is designed to help students identify their own artistic, communication, and business strengths as it applies to the entertainment industry. This course brings awareness to the numerous jobs, skills, and opportunities in the workforce. Students are grouped by their strengths into position in a Record Company Project and they work together to launch a music or movie project that actually gets promoted across local media stations and platforms. • Entrepreneurship and Economics Antwain Debnam teaches Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy to Worldwide Voices participants. In his courses, students are shown the process of turning any idea into a reality. Student learn the steps to setting up a business, how to research and apply for a patent, putting together a pitch deck, marketing, the difference between an asset and a liability, and the power of networking. Student will put together business plan, profit & loss statements, and how credit works. Antwaine introduces his classes to a variety of entrepreneurs, inventors, and financial experts. More...
• Career Exploration & Visioning Paige Rasid teaches Visioning and Career Exploration to WWVoices Youth In this program, students work to identify their goals and positive influences, and build on their natural charisma, so they can claim an active role in the development of their family and friendships, health, education and careers. Students discuss goal setting and how to plan for success. Students identify their short and long term goals, and work on a presentation of their vision. In presenting their vision boards, the students are introduced to presentation skills and audio video technology. More...
• Media Literacy & Production Duane Pierre teaches Media Literacy to WWVoices Youth. His courses are designed to educate youth on how to be media creators instead of just media consumers. Students learn how to operate the latest devices, technologies, applications, and platforms. Students will learn the basics on podcasting, making a web series, marketing and online sales. Duane gives them access and training on the latest cameras, audio, editing, and virtual reality equipment. Student leave his classes with transferable skills for the jobs of tomorrow. More...
• STEM (STEAM & STREAM) Dr. Stacey “STEM” Williams teaches a variety of STEM courses for World Wide Voices. Her classes include “Green Energy” where students research wind turbine and solar power then build scale models to demonstrate their benefits. “The Science of Urban Community Development” where students build an energy efficient and technologically savvy model home. In this program , students will research homes in their neighborhoods, get a chance to take home tours, and meet real estate agents . Students will then learn what it takes to build and maintain a home being introduced to construction, mortgages, home buying options, and green energy technology. Students will take this knowledge to design a technologically savvy home for the 21st century. Learning how construction, green technology and real estate play a major role in the development of communities, with an emphasis in urban community development. More...
